TRIA expands Blow Moulding series of granulators

TRIA continues its market penetration into the blow moulding industry with the introduction of two new models to complement the highly successful ‘BM’ series. The latest models are ‘BM70-57’ and ‘BM110-57’, which have feed cutter apertures of 740 x 570 mm and 1100 x 570 mm respectively.

The ‘BM’ series is designed to granulate voluminous blow and injection moulded products from bottles and crates to large panels and cabinets. The cutter housing and rotor design ensure no scrap product can enter the rotor ‘on the wrong side’, totally eliminating ‘bounce-back’ of product.

The ‘BM’ series is designed to give easy access for clean-down via quick release clips, the granulator is opened without tools. Hardened cutting chambers to 62HRC give the unit an exceptionally long service life, aesthetically look good and aid the clean-down procedure. Large bearings machined and mounted into the cutter housing give superb rotor support and eliminate the possibility of movement, even in a ‘jam’ situation. Keyed to the rotor shaft, the solid flywheel is designed (not an ‘off the shelf’ item) to give an extremely effective power transmission using ‘low power’ consumption drive motors.

The soundproofing of both hopper and granulator body is made in polyester and rubber sandwich, thus reducing noise levels. When sharpened or replaced, the rotating knives are adjusted on a bench jig to maintain the ‘cutting circle’, with the screen preventing smearing and heat build-up whilst substantially reducing the adjustment time required when fitting.

The ‘BM’ series has a water-cooling facility of the cutting chamber as standard.
